| Levels Pre-competetive 'PC' level: this is the developmental level of the Merionettes. The PC program prepares the swimmers for synchronized swimming competition. Before entering a competition, each swimmer must have a thorough knowledge of the basic swimming strokes and be able to swim one mile of backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle within one hour each. The PC program focuses on developing proper stroke techniques and building strength and endurance. Novice level: this is usually the first competition level for a swimmer. The novice competition is highly developmental and has technical requirements including defined skills and movements to be made during figures and the routine. Intermediate level: this is the next level of competition. The skills for intermediate are more difficult than for novices and include pre-defined technical elements that must be performed in a set sequence during routines. Age Group level: this is the next level of competition. Routines for your swimmers at this level Re technical and require pre-determined elements that must be performed in a set sequence. The older Age Group swimmers perform 'free' routines. |
